Doha, September 07, 2026 : The 2026-2027 camel racing season got underway on Monday at Al Shahaniya with the first local race of the season, set to run through September 18 across 12 morning sessions.

Open Haqayeq Category Headlines Opening Day

Opening day featured 24 two-kilometer rounds in the Open Haqayeq category for Their Excellencies the Sheikhs, including 13 rounds in the Bakkar (female) category and 11 rounds in the Qa'dan (male) category.

Dajjah, Al Fasil Take Top Honors

Dajjah, owned by HE Sheikh Saud bin Ali bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, won the main Bakkar round with a time of 2:52.41 minutes. Al Fasil, owned by HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman bin Saud Al Thani, claimed victory in the main Qa'dan round with a time of 2:55.20 minutes.

Shaheen Posts Fastest Time of the Day

Shaheen, owned by HE Sheikh Saud bin Faisal bin Muhammad Al Thani, recorded the best time of the day, completing the fourth round in 2:51.39 minutes.
